Seeing lots of strange and unfamiliar faces from unknown people on boxes of products in stores, I wanted to personalize these people again. I removed them visually from their context - the box of a product - to focus on these unfamiliar people. At the same time I gave them names based on the only thing that I knew from them. Mr. & Mrs Happylife is a collection of portraits in a small book, organized in alphabetical order according to their new names.

In 2010 I made a journey through Florida, while keeping my camera at home. I wanted to get as much visual proof as possible of me being there, with the use of cameras that are already there and that are already recording.
To get this visual proof I placed myself in front of cameras at the time a picture was taken: in front of webcams that are connected to the internet; in front of security cameras from gated communities; secretly behind tourists who pose in front of an attraction.
In this way I documented a place which is extremely focused on the outside. I've collected visual proof of me being there; without a camera in my hand, sometimes even without any camera involved.

While going through a lot of old family pictures I saw many pictures of my identical twin brother and me, without knowing who I was. I constantly saw two little boys in the pictures and didn't know whether I should look at the left or the right boy to see myself. How could I then point to one of them and state that that one is me?
I look at two similar boys. I can then say that one specific boy represents me, but I can recognize myself also in the other boy, a reason for many people to say "that's me".
The book This is me and this is me shows all images that I found in which I can not see which one of the two boys I am. It is a family album of myself as a little boy - twice in each picture.

On a showroom computer in a store, I found 91 pictures and 2 movies made by two girls. After some research I now know that they made a total of at least 153 pictures and 2 small movies in about an hour on the showroom computer. They deleted a lot of pictures. When you are aware of this, the pictures that you can see become more important. What could be seen in the deleted pictures, and why did these girls keep the ones now visible?
The book Showroom girls shows all images that the girls made together with the date and time, including all deleted images which are represented by empty frames.
